The two things I noticed off the bat was that Flip looks stretched out and that I push the head way too foward. I remebered while drawing that I wasn't placing much importance on the body and so it's not flowing with everything else. I lost control over the head as well, I knew that while drawing.

Question: "So why did you draw it that way?"

I knew the figure was stretched looking from the get go, but decided that it's an unusual way for me to draw and to try and learn the animation principles involved anyway. Frame 9 was drawn well, I thought, and even though the head was way too out I decided to just see what it looks like. The head really destroys the whole walks purpose. Another note on the stretched look, in retrospect I shouldn't have drawn on an angle as I was. It changes the perception.

I'm not making excuses, I'm explaining what I did wrong that I can notice right away.

Oh and the newspaper was a big after thought.

Isolated I'm surprised by the speed of how cartoons used to move.

Comments and critics greatly welcomed.

Another one bites the duck.
All we are is ducks in the wind.

This duck is sawing away and bopping along. More in tune with the old cartoons. I think the legs are funny. I wanted more of an offset to the head, but it came out different.

Example like this: Without an offset.

*The numbers represent where the drawing is not what frame it's on. The top row 2 and the bottem row two are on the same frame. This is a 12 frames a second animation and is comprised of 12 drawings repeating over and again. By traditional means this animation is on two's since traditionally animation is set at 24 frames a second, but these guidelines, each frame is shown for 2 frames. Refered to as "twos". Hope something makes sense.

Got home late again, tired!
Here's a quick one that uses an alternating system for the animation. The first hop has an ease in effect at the top of the jump, the second hop has an extra frame to cushin the landing of the second leg. Make sense?

The goal is to create a better loop that's not just a mirror image of it self.
Look at this example:
1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10
as opposed to this:
1 2 34 5 6 78 9 10

The second example has a different pacing and an alternating effect to jazz it up a bit to it's not so basic and boring visually.

Other than that it stinks and is hard to read.

A little different today, I took up John. K's lesson on his wabsite.
This was hard to draw, mostly because I'm really bad at drawing.

Scanning this took a long time.

Process:

Took the video provided on the wabsite, and put in Flash.

Then I went frame by frame trying to redraw what I saw.

Threw away the wasted paper and scanned everything.

Converted everything to PNG's in Photochop

and placed it in Flash.

I thought the first part was fast, but I played besides the original and that's about the same speed.

No sound, too big of file, I no good at file compression.

This one is funnier. The timing is akward and I wanted it to be a tad faster, but I'm much happier with this than my last three. I had an old drawing that looked like this character so I borrowed from that. I wanna draw good teeth because most new cartoons have really bad teeth. Sponge Bob looks bad with flat even teeth. Teeth aren't even hard to spruce up, I don't know why they refuse to do so.

Maybe it's a Yalp like from Dead Poet Society.

There are 1,273,982,278 control problems in this one. I never turned off the second layer with the plate and table edge so the hands are all over the place. The face I can't explain. The timing is way off, I mean wayyyyyy off. I again didn't feel like doing anything but wanted a better effort than yesterday which was pure sh*t.

Flash is a weird bird for drawing, but I'll lick it.
